On Sunday, May 1, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) of Bethany Lutheran College hosted over 200 Mankato, Minn. youth for a “Mutts on Mulberry” community event. The theme of the event was based on the book “Mutts on Mulberry Street: Good for You, Good for Me”, co-authored by Mankato natives, Dan Marso and John Amann.
Northland SAAC hosts hypnotic event for Special Olympics

On Wednesday, February 9th, the Northland College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted a hypnotist on campus. Amye Scharalu of Gigmasters, put on a great show and incorporated diversity education through her act.

Amidst the dressed ghouls and goblins on Halloween night, watch out for Vikings coming to your doorstep. But these Bethany Lutheran student-athletes don’t want your candy; they want what is in your cabinet.
The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Student Athlete Advisory Committee provides student athletes with an active role in the governance of the Conference. It is made up of two student athlete representatives from each of the UMAC member institutions. Committee members are expected to represent the viewpoint of the student athletes on their respective campuses and to serve as a vital communication link between the conference and its student athletes.
A secondary role is to enhance the image of the student athletes both on campus and in the community. In this manner, the UMAC SAAC is committed to engaging in campus service projects and to serving as positive role models for their peers and younger athletes.
