Track & Field Join Player of the Week Awards
UMAC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CD Douglas, University of Minnesota Morris
Douglas averaged 29 points in a pair of victories last week, starting with 23 points and tying a career high, in the Cougars win over Mayville State. He was 9-14 from the field and added six assists, five rebounds, and four steals. On Saturday he tied a school record with 35 points in the win against Crown going 14-22 from the field and 7-10 from the foul line. He also had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.
UMAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Haley Sandin, Bethany Lutheran College
The freshman had another great weekend, helping her team to a victory over St. Scholastica, scoring 28 points while connecting on five three pointers. In the game against UW-Superior, Haley scored 23 points going 4-8 from three-point range. She is averaging 26.3 points per game through the team's first seven games.
UMAC MEN'S TRACK & FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kevin Wagner, College of St. Scholastica
Wagner scored 4,791 points in the heptathlon at The Opener hosted by St. Scholastica. Kevin had career bests in both the 60 m and pole vault, while tying a career best in another the 60 m hurdles. His points total currently ranks him 3rd in NCAA Division 3.
UMAC WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kelli Praska, University of Wisconsin-Superior
Praska finished first in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:37.37, beating the second place runner by 2.34 seconds. She also set a new school record in the process, shattering the previous indoor record of 1:38.45.
