St. Scholastica's Hamers, Northwestern's Sir Earn UMAC Player of the Week Awards

ST. PAUL -- The College of St. Scholastica and Northwestern College were represented in the first UMAC Player of the Week award listing of 2012 following a pair of standout performances on the basketball court. Congratulations to the following award recipients.
MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
G Chris Hamers, College of St. Scholastica
In a pair of games last week, St. Scholastica's Chris Hamers averaged 20 points. In a 85-71 win over Wisconsin-Superior, Hamers scored 28 points, going 8 for 12 from behind the three point line.
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
G Mollie Sir, Northwestern College
Northwestern's Mollie Sir consistently scored in double-digits at the California Lutheran tournament last week, averaging 15.0 points and three rebounds per game to go with a .435 shooting rate. Following Sir was named to the Best Western Posada Royale All-Classic Team.
