PAUL -- This week's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Player of the Week award recipients all turned in superb performances in their arena of competition. Congratulations to this week’s winners! MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK F Brett Tester, College of St. Scholastica St. Scholastica's Brett Tester averaged 23.3 points and eight rebounds per game in three contests last week. The junior made 58 percent of his attempts from the floor throughout the week while scoring a career-high 30 points in an 84-78 win over Northland College on Tuesday. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK F Jessica Englund, Bethany Lutheran College In three games last week, Bethany Lutheran's Jessica Englund earned three double-doubles to improve to 10 double-doubles for the season. The senior averaged 17 points and 13 rebounds throughout the three contests, helping the Vikings start their UMAC schedule with a 2-1 record. MEN'S TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Justin Hanson, College of St. Scholastica St. Scholastica's Justin Hanson broke his own program record in the 60-meter hurdles event at the Super 8 Open at Bemidji State. Hanson's time of 8.54 seconds placed him second overall. It was the second straight meet that Hanson broke the Saints record. WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Tracy Perish, College of St. Scholastica In Friday night's pentathlon event at the Super 8 Open hosted by Bemidji State, St. Scholastica's Tracy Perish broke her own program record while winning the event. Perish accumulated 2,989 points, winning the 800-meter dash and the long jump while taking second place in the shot put.
