Northland SAAC hosts hypnotic event for Special Olympics

ASHLAND, Wis. - On Wednesday, February 9th, the Northland College Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted a hypnotist on campus. Amye Scharalu of Gigmasters, put on a great show and incorporated diversity education through her act.
Scharalue's message was that everyone needs to celebrate their diversity and accept each other's differences because that is what makes us who we are. Throughout the evening hypnotized volunteers ballet danced across the stage, turned into drill sergeants and were transformed into aliens. Scharalue put on a great show which was enjoyed by everyone.
Donations were collected in place of admission to the event with all proceeds going to the Chequamegon Bay Special Olympics. The SAAC was able to raise $100 which will go to support local Special Olympic Athletes.
