ST. PAUL -- The College of St. Scholastica, who claimed its sixth consecutive UMAC Women’s Track & Field Championship on Saturday, also cleaned house in the UMAC All-Conference Awards list with 10 student-athletes receiving recognition for their accomplishments on the track or in field events. All 10 Saints who earned all-conference status were part of the winning individual or team performances in Saturday’s championship meet.

North Central University’s Catherine Mead was named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Meet after winning the 3000 meter steeplechase event and placing second in both the 1500 and 5000 meter races. The University of Minnesota-Morris’ Sara Erickson earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Meet accolades as she took first place in the shot put competition while taking second in the discus and hammer throws. Following his team’s overall victory, St. Scholastica head coach Kirk Nauman was named the UMAC Women’s Coach of the Year.

Following St. Scholastica’s 296 points in the meet, Minnesota-Morris took second in the meet with 160 points. Northwestern College followed with 76 points, while North Central University rounded out the top four teams with 46 points.

Minnesota-Morris and Northwestern College each had seven representatives on the all-conference awards list, while two North Central student-athletes were named to the All-UMAC team. Martin Luther College also had one all-conference winner.
