Northwestern's DeWitt surpasses 1,000 career points
ST. PAUL -- Northwestern women’s basketball player Katie DeWitt became the 13th member of the Eagles’ 1,000 Point Club in her team’s game against the University of Minnesota-Morris on Feb. 19.
DeWitt (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) reached the 1,000 point plateau faster than any other Eagle. A junior eligibility-wise, DeWitt needed just 53 games to surpass the prestigious mark.
In 2009-10, DeWitt was named the UMAC Player of the Year while earning first team all-conference honors. She averaged 23.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while making 46.6 percent of her attempts from the floor. As a team, Northwestern finished the season 15-13.
