St. Scholastica earns 16 all-conference awards in indoor track & field
ST. PAUL – After the College of St. Scholastica won the UMAC Indoor Track & Field Championship in dominating fashion on Saturday, the Saints won 16 of the 27 all-conference awards that were handed out. The Saints scored 274 points in Saturday’s meet, more than twice than that of second-place University of Minnesota-Morris, who had 128.
St. Scholastica’s Alec Seeley was named the championship’s Field Athlete of the Meet after winning both the weight throw and shot put competitions. Megan Croatt from Minnesota-Morris was an easy choice for Track Athlete of the Week honors after claiming the top spot in the 55-meter dash, 200-meter dash, pole vault and anchoring the Cougars’ second-place 4x400-meter relay team.
Kirk Nauman, St. Scholastica’s head coach, was named the UMAC Coach of the Year after his team’s overwhelming victory.
Following St. Scholastica and its 16 awards was Minnesota-Morris, who received six all-conference accolades. Northwestern College earned four all-UMAC honors, while North Central University had one award recipient.
