St. Scholastica sweeps UMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

DULUTH, Minn. -- The College of St. Scholastica men's and women's teams claimed first place in 16 of 31 competitions on Saturday to win both of the UMAC Indoor Track & Field Championships.  The Saints women's squad took 274 points to more than double second-place University of Minnesota-Morris, while the St. Scholastica men earned 208 points to best the rest of the field.

On the women's side, the Cougars from Minnesota-Morris took second at 128 points, followed by Northwestern College and North Central University, who tied for third with 30 points.  The few individuals that competed for Crown College earned three points for their school.

In men's action, Minnesota-Morris came in second with 153 points.  Northwestern came in third with 66 points and North Central rounded out the top four with 59 points.

In women's action, Minnesota-Morris' Megan Croatt was given Track Athlete of the Meet accolades and St. Scholastica's Alec Seely was the Field Athlete of the Meet.  Todd Gramenz from Minnesota-Morris was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Meet, while St. Scholastica's Tom Lysico earned Field Athlete of the Meet honors.
