PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARDS


Football Offensive
Anthony Ambers – SR | RB | Greenville College

Greenville’s Anthony Ambers ran 28 times for 263 yards and four touchdowns in the Panthers’ 35-7 win over St. Scholastica.  Ambers’ long run on the day was for 67 yards while the senior had no rushes for negative yards.

Football Defensive
James Binder – SR | CB | Greenville College

James Binder recorded three tackles and two interceptions in Greenville’s 35-7 win over St. Scholasica on Saturday.  Binder was part of a secondary that held the Saints’ starting quarterback to just 102 passing yards.

Football Special Teams
Daniel Comacho – FR | KR | University of Minnesota, Morris

Minnesota-Morris’ Daniel Comacho averaged 19.5 yards per return in the Cougars’ 28-21 loss to Martin Luther.  Comacho had a long return of 30 yards while posting two more returns of 20 or more yards.

Men’s Soccer Offensive
Cody Svieven – SR | MF | College of St. Scholastica
St. Scholastica’s Cody Svieven helped the Saints pick up a UMAC victory over Northland last week.  In that game, Svieven recorded 10 points in 39 minutes of play with three goals and four assists.

Men’s Soccer Defensive
Josh Niedermayer – JR | GK | Northwestern College

Josh Niedermayer helped Northwestern go 1-0-1 in conference play, earning a shutout against Bethany Lutheran before holding Martin Luther to just one goal in a double overtime finish.

Women’s Soccer Offensive
Zoe Bergstrom – FR | MF | University of Minnesota, Morris
In a pair of wins over Presentation College last week, Minnesota-Morris’ Zoe Bergstrom had four goals on three assists, including a hat trick in Friday’s 7-0 victory.
 
Women’s Soccer Defensive
Allison Snyder – SO | GK | Martin Luther Colege

Martin Luther’s Allison Snyder tallied 27 saves in three games last week, including 16 saves in a 1-0 loss at Northwestern on Saturday.

Volleyball Offensive
Elissa Sandstrom – SR | MB | Northwestern College

Elissa Sandstrom didn’t dip below a .385 attacking percentage in any of her team’s five matches last week as the Northwestern senior averaged 3.47 kills per set and a .537 overall attacking percentage.

Volleyball Defensive
Jordan Olerud – SR | OH | University of Minnesota, Morris

In Minnesota-Morris’ sweep of UMAC competition last week, the Cougars’ Jordan Olerud averaged 3.0 digs per set and a .938 receiving percentage.

Volleyball Setter
Leah Kostek – SR | S | Northwestern College
Leah Kostek helped the Eagles go 4-1 last week, averaging 10.8 assists per set while Northwestern hit .360 as a team.  Kostek also surpassed the 3,000 assist mark for her career early in the week.
