ST. PAUL – The College of St. Scholastica, who won its 13th consecutive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season championship and won the league’s postseason tournament once again in 2009, led the conference with six individuals selected to the UMAC All-Conference Team.

Freshman Ploy Suthijindawong, who was voted the UMAC Player of the Year, led a team that included
all-conference winners Lynnae Wilke, Katie Motley, Paula Beckermann, Callee Conda and Angela Shields to a 10-0 record.  Suthijindawong won all four of her UMAC singles and doubles matches in conference play.  Northwestern College boasted a trio of players who earned all-conference selections in Wendy Miller, Rebecca Leland and Johanna Alex.  Meaghan Dahlke and Elizabeth Kopacek represented Bethany Lutheran College on the all-conference team, while Rachel Niemi was Martin Luther College’s lone selection.

St. Scholastica head coach Wells Patten was named the UMAC Coach of the Year after guiding his team to a perfect UMAC record and its third straight NCAA tournament.
